Established in 1979, Watts Air Conditioning, Plumbing, & Electrical began operating out of a portable shed in Charles’s back yard, with wife Lois Watts running the home office. In 1980, the founder’s son, Leonard Watts, a serving member of the United States Coast Guard, began working at the family business. In 1983, the company opened its first building at 803 Nilsen Street in Haines City, FL. In 1985, Leonard purchased the growing business from his father and took over its day-to-day operations, with Charles still employed as the license holder up to the day of his full retirement in 1989.

Watts Air Conditioning, Plumbing, & Electrical, continued to grow by leaps and bounds, building additional offices and warehouses. Firmly grounded in the local community, the company still operates from the facility at 803 Nilsen Street, Haines City, FL, with 26 full-time employees at the time of writing.

Our Foundation and Growth

In 1972, after having operated a dairy business for 26 years, Charles M. Watts began working for an HVAC company in Leesburg, FL. Seven years later, he moved to Haines City to be near his aging parents, which is where Watts Air Conditioning, Plumbing, & Electrical was established. Having passed away in 2011, Charles is fondly remembered as a pillar of his community.

When we called Watts , we needed an immediate price on a new central air system . John and another gentleman arrived within two hours . They were prompt , efficient , professional and polite, and gave us a quote that was competitive and reasonable. I want to commend Watts Air Conditioning for the amazing service they provided today. My a/c was not blowing cold air this morning. I called Watts at 12:45. Raymond, the technician to my great surprise, showed up just 20 mins later. He diagnosed the part required immediately, changed it out and was gone by 1:45. On these warm days, getting our A/C back up and running fast is very important to us. High marks to Watts and their amazing technician Raymond who was very professional and polite from beginning to end. I highly recommend Watts and Raymond to anyone that needs professional A/C repairs or servicing. Give them a call. You will be glad you did. Bruce and Linda W. On 11/14/2025 my 3 ton unit received the annual clean and tune maintenance from Watts A/C. The service technician "Ned" whom has been to my residence in 2024 performed the task. Ned is outstanding, explains all issues and leaves the job cleaner than it was before arrival! I also had the opportunity to interact at the office with "Cassie" on another issue after Ned finished. She too is a real pro! I trust Watts with my A/C equipment and have been a very satisfied customer since 2015.
